New York Design Week 2012

Following the success of the “I ramaioli treidentini” event held last April in Milan, GD Arredamenti continues to work with Segno Italiano. During New York Design Week 2012, the company’s Chelsea showroom in Manhattan will be hosting an exhibition that, once again, will be expressing the values of skilled Italian craftsmanship.

The lightweight Chiavari chair

Research into historical companies with their roots in Italy has led to an exhibition promoted by GD Arredamenti and Segno Italiano which offers a unique installation: The lightweight Chiavari chair.
A construction technique that has remained unchanged over its two-hundred-year history, a perfect understanding of the leverage and flexibility of wood, the long processes involved with hand-crafting parts, assembling by hand, the use of cherry wood and beechwood, natural ageing and seats woven with Indian cane, are just a few of the unique features of these chairs.

Like the master craftsmen who have been transforming wood into uniquely valuable pieces of furniture for centuries, GD Arredamenti is driven by its passion and its ability to allow people to experience the past in today’s world.
